Agriculture Victoria

Part of the Victorian Government’s Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), Agriculture Victoria supports a strong, innovative, sustainable agriculture, food and fibre sector. It works with the community and industry to enhance productivity, improve animal welfare, connect the sector with international markets, create jobs, support growth and maintain effective biosecurity.

There is a dedicated Agriculture Victoria Research division that works alongside industry and research institutions to modernise Victorian agriculture through its research, innovation, investment, and education.

Agriculture Victoria’s research aims to:

  • Deliver outcomes to recover, grow, modernise, protect and promote agriculture industries
  • Work with governments, industry, academia and community to co-design, co-invest and co-deliver research and innovation
  • Support Victorian and Australian agriculture to position for, and respond to climate change
  • Strengthen biosecurity and animal welfare to protect food and jobs
  • Deliver smarter farms through science, innovation and digital agriculture.
